Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo technique used to create the illusion of fuller brows. A blade made up of many nano needles is used to scratch or "cut" hairlike strokes into the skin to implant pigment.
This technique is great for candidates who want a very natural result. Typically, this option is best for those who have a good amount of hair and density throughout their natural brow.
Instead of hairlike strokes, powder brows are a full, makeup look. A rotary tattoo machine and a needle cartridge designed specifically for permanent makeup, builds pixels into the brow layer by layer. This can be done several different ways to meet each clients needs, either bold or soft for a more "natural" look.
The powder brow is less traumatic to the skin and can last twice as long as microblading. The machine implants pigment more efficiently into the skin, therefore it is a great option for clients with oily, difficult, or mature skin. This technique is also best for cover ups and corrections.
The combination brow is truly the best of both worlds! This technique can be done many different ways; either having hair stokes (microblading) only in the front with pixels (powder brow) throughout the rest of the brow for a softer look, or hair strokes throughout the entire brow with the pixels shading areas that need more density and depth to create a more hyper-realistic eyebrow.
The combination option is recommended for clients who would like the benefits of the powder brow with the ultra natural look of the hair strokes. It is also recommended for clients wanting a hair like look, but do not have a lot of existing hair or only have density in certain areas. Not all cover ups or corrections will be considered a good candidate for this service.
Permanent makeup is not just for women! Male brows are a thing and are just as effective for creating youth and framing the face.
Typically, male services are done using the microblading technique, with or without the pixel shading. The design is different for these eyebrows. Bushy, less structured with a minimally defined arch is common.
